Statement from SFPS Superintendent Dr. Veronica C. Garcia on Positive COVID-19 Tests of Two District Employees

“On Sunday, I was made aware of two employees in our General Services Department testing positive for COVID-19. Since receiving this information, we have been in communication with the New Mexico Department of Health, and are following all guidelines regarding notification of employees who may have been in contact with those individuals, ensuring appropriate quarantining before these employees may return to work, and additional sanitization in the areas that these employees were working has been completed. We will continue to follow New Mexico Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control guidelines. The privacy of these individuals is of utmost importance, and per HIPAA, their information will not be released to the public. The health and safety of our students, staff, and employees will continue to be our number one priority.”
