The CHRISTUS St. Vincent is pleased to announce that former City of Santa Fe Mayor Javier Gonzales has been named Vice President and Chief Development Officer for the Hospital Foundation.

In this role, Gonzales will oversee the foundation’s strategic plan and all activities, including philanthropy, community engagement and outreach.

“This is an amazing opportunity for Javier and for CHRISTUS St. Vincent,” said Lillian Montoya, CHRISTUS St. Vincent President & CEO. “Javier’s deep understanding and knowledge of Santa Fe and northern NM will allow him to engage the community on healthcare issues that matter to them.”

CHRISTUS St. Vincent continues its transformational journey of a New Mexico Best Places to Work, a best place for patients to heal, and a best place for providers to practice, she said.

“Javier knows Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, its story and its people,” said Montoya. “In leading our development efforts, Javier will be positioned to tell the story of this journey and fundraise, which further strengthens CHRISTUS St. Vincent and benefits our community as a whole.”

“This is a deeply fulfilling opportunity for me,” Gonzales said. “CHRISTUS ST. Vincent has cared for me and my family for generations, and I look forward to being a part of Team CSV.”

Prior to joining CHRISTUS St. Vincent, Gonzales served as Director of External Affairs for Descartes Labs and also served as City of Santa Fe Mayor from 2014 to 2018.
