New Mexico State Parks to Close Temporarily

By NM Parks

As directed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in response to rising COVID-19 cases throughout the state, the Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (EMNRD) is closing all New Mexico State Parks effective Monday, November 16, 2020.

The closures will expire November 30, 2020 unless the public health order is extended. A law enforcement presence will remain in the parks to ensure the protection of natural resources.

Visitors with overnight camping reservations will be issued refunds. To stay up to date on additional announcements, visit the State Parks website.

COVID-19 case numbers in New Mexico are rising rapidly, so health officials continue to urge New Mexicans to stay home, wear a mask, and avoid gatherings with persons outside your household.
