Another close match for the St. Michael’s volleyball team, but this one at home on Monday night put it all even at 1-1.
Following the tight 3-set non-district setback at Albuquerque Sandia Prep Saturday afternoon, the Lady Horsemen emerged with a tight 3-setter over East Mountain, 25-21, 25-17, 25-22, in District 2-3A play, with their next stop in district play Wednesday at Albuquerque Bosque School.
This time, it was 5-foot-3 senior Aneesa Ulibarri who led the way with 20 service receptions and six assists. Another senior, 5-5 Jayla Martinez, contributed 11 digs, while 5-9 sophomore Carmen Pacheco added five digs, 5-6 sophomore Kianna Durr had a pair of blocks, and 5-9 freshman Alana Overton had another good showing by serving four aces.
