ST. MICHAEL’S VOLLEYBALL

The St. Michael’s volleyball team swept East Mountain for the second time and advanced its overall record to 3-2 after the Monday match in Sandia Park.
The scores were 25-10, 25-13, 25-13 in a District 2-3A laugher that followed a tough 3-2 loss in Espanola Valley. This was also its third sweep of the season. The next match for the Lady Horsemen is at home Thursday to Cuba (1-4).
Junior Rhegan Glidewell served six aces for St. Michael’s, sophomore Carmen Pacheco came away with six kills, and freshmen Alana Overton and Maya Pina added five each. Senior Jayla Martinez had 11 ballhandling contributions and added a block, plus senior Aneesa Ulibarri came up with 12 service receiving, and sophomore Carley Gravel had a stellar all-around match.
The Lady Horsemen are home to Cuba Thursday.
