New Mexico-base immigrant groups will take part in The March to Victory, a nationwide effort organized by the Fair Immigration Reform Movementand Faith in Action to promote a roadmap to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented immigrants. As the nation continues to battle the ongoing pandemic, inclusive COVID recovery for all, including legalization for frontline essential workers, is necessary to ensure we all get through the health and economic crisis.
EL CENTRO de Igualdad y Derechos, NM Comunidades de Fe en Acción (CAFé) and Somos Acción will host a virtual Facebook Live rally on April 6th from 6:00-7:00 PM with essential immigrant workers and Senator Martin Heinrich and Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez.
The event will feature stories of immigrant workers and families from urban, rural and border communities in New Mexico, as well as updates on federal immigration reform efforts from New Mexico Congressional members. It will also include information about the impact of the bills passed by the New Mexico Legislature on mixed status immigrant families.
