Louisiana State, the No. 7 seed and host in Baton Rouge Thursday against 10th-seeded Florida State in the 16-field Super Regionals of the NCAA Division I national softball tournament is hoping it doesn’t get eliminated as did 15th-seeded Arizona State when it hosted the Tempe Region by also playing the Thursday opener.
But it should be a good game, as will the others that begin play on Friday, with the final stop the Elite Eight World Series in Oklahoma City.
The Bayou Tigers come in at 34-20 and are seeking their first national championship, while FSU, the 2018 champion, is 42-10-1. This contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start Eastern Time.
These two will play game two of the best-of-3 on Friday, while the other brackets will be playing back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday to be the day if deciding games are needed.
