Rules and Information Booklet Announcement

We have delved deep into our resources and are coming up a bit short. If you haven’t heard, there is a nationwide shortage of paper!

Due to this shortage, we have had to cut back on the number of Rules and Information Booklets that we have ordered. There will be a LIMITED supply of Rules and Information Booklets available at the Game and Fish Department offices in New Mexico. We are expecting the shipment to arrive in mid-January.

Please keep in mind that the Rules and Information booklet is only a summary of the laws and rules for hunting in New Mexico. For a complete and specific list of the laws and rules that govern hunting, fishing, trapping and other outdoor activities, view the appropriate statutes in Chapter 17, Chapter 30 and Chapter 66 NMSA 1978 and rules in 19.30.1 through 19.36.3 NMAC. In developing the Spanish edition of the Rules and Information Booklet, we tried to incorporate common Spanish terms and phrases. We realize that New Mexico has many Spanish dialects that have evolved over hundreds of years. If you need clarification on information in the Spanish booklet, or if you have suggestions on how to improve the translations in the document please email DGF-Translation@state.nm.us.

Keep in mind that the 2021-2022 Rules and Information Booklet is valid through March 31, 2022.

Hemos agotado nuestros recursos y nuestros suministros se están quedando cortos. Si no lo ha escuchado, ¡hay una escasez de papel en todo el país!

Debida a esta escasez, hemos tenido que reducir la cantidad de los Folletos de reglas e información que hemos podido. Habrá un suministro LIMITADO de los Folletos de reglas e información disponibles en las oficinas del Departamento de Caza y Pesca de Nuevo México. Esperamos que el envío llegue a mediados de enero.

Por favor, tenga en cuenta que el Folleto de reglas e información es solo un resumen de las leyes y reglas para cazar en Nuevo México. #HuntNM22 – All you need to know virtual series

The Department is finalizing a virtual series to help answer your questions about the 2022-2023 Big Game applications.

Last year, our biologists talked about herd health, survey techniques and answered questions about wildlife management. The Department also hosted a how-to-apply live series and answered questions about hunter education and reading the draw odds report. Visit the Department’s YouTube Channel to view last year’s videos.

As we prepare for the 2022-2023 series, we want your help planning topics that you are interested in. Please email us your questions or ideas for topics to help us plan the most useful series. We may not be able to have every question on the virtual series, but we can help answer your questions.

El Departamento está finalizando una serie virtual para ayudar a responder a sus preguntas sobre las solicitudes de caza mayor en 2022-2023.

El año pasado, nuestros biólogos hablaron sobre la salud de los rebaños y las técnicas de encuesta y respondieron a las preguntas sobre la administración de la vida silvestre. El Departamento también organizó una serie en vivo de cómo postularse y respondió a las preguntas sobre la educación de los cazadores y cómo leer el informe de probabilidades de sorteo.
