NCRTD Looks to Reduce Service on Three Routes

By NCRTD

The North Central Regional Transit District is looking to implement a series of route modifications as a result of its recent service plan update and in an effort to run routes more efficiently. Reductions in service are being planned on the 260 La Cienega, 180 El Rito and 320 Questa routes.

Due to low ridership on the 260 La Cienega route, modifications are being planned which could include service reductions. The District is seeking public comment from the community to hear how the route might best serve them, or if the route should be re-designed to better suit their needs.

On the 180 El Rito route, modifications being looked at include reducing service to one day per week. The 320 Questa route between Town of Taos and Costilla, the District is considering reducing the Cerro to Costilla extension to one day per week. Each of these routes currently provide service Monday through Friday.

The District is seeking public comment to these changes and a public hearing will be conducted at the January board meeting to be held at on January 7 at 9:00 AM. Public comment may be submitted to the record for consideration prior to the meeting.

The public is encouraged to provide public comment on the change and will be asked to indicate which day of the week would be most beneficial to them. To provide comment to the record prior to the public hearing, or in lieu of attending, please visit www.ncrtd.org/RouteMods or call toll-free 866-206-0754 ext. 4.

The public is invited to attend the Board meeting virtually, or in person, 9:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at the Jim West Regional Transit Center, 1327 N. Riverside Dr., Española. Login information to be provided at the District website.
