SUN COUNTY AMATEUR WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT

An even dozen players from Santa Fe competed in the weekend Sun County Amateur Golf Association championships over the course at the Santa Ana Golf Club.
Carisa Padilla and Cindy Barreras placed fifth in their respective groups, Padilla doing so twice with a 74-74 total of 148 that amounted to a plus 4 in a group of 16. In her other group that also numbered 16, she came away with a 77-79 for 156 and a plus 12.
Barreras went 42-49 in her group for a total of 91 and a plus 19. There were seven in her group.
Those were the highest finishers for the Santa Fe women.
But a 7th place went to Caryn Fiorina of Santa Fe on 93-81 for 174 and a plus 58 in a group of 11. Fiorina also took 8th in a group of 11 with 93-81 for a 174 total and a plus 30.
There were two other 8ths. Both came from Marylou Anderson, with her best a pair of 85s for a for a 178 total and a plus 26 in a group of 10, the other a combined 91-98 for a 174 total and a plus 30 in also a group of 10.

Two 11s were played, both by Shirley Rehders, with the better one a pair of 195s for a total of 190 for a plus 46 among a group of 11, and the other was also in a group of 11 on 114-116 for a 230 total for a plus 86. 

 
There was also a 14th place scored by Barreras on a twosome of 48-39 for a 79 total and plus 79 in a group of 14. 
 
A 16th place went to Karen Tian in one of Padilla’s group of 16, and her scores were 76-75 for a 151 total and a plus 7. Then there was an 18th recorded by Tian in the other Padilla group 16, and here she came up with 81-82 for a 163 total and plus 19. 
 
The plus 4s made by Padilla and Barreras were right up there.
