Nolensville, Tennessee, bounced back

By Arnie Leshin
Shortly after taking a 13-0 four-inning shellacking from undefeated powerhouse Honolulu, Hawaii, the Southeast team from Nolensville, Tennesse gathered with their manager and two assistant coaches.
The manager spoke loud and clear.
“Guys, we took a pounding, but it’s history, forget this one, we’re still playing and we must take a deep breath, relax, and take the field, this time against the team from Texas.”
Of course, he didn’t say win and we play Hawaii again, in fact ne never even mentioned Hawaii.
But by outplaying the Southwest team to the tune of 7-1, in the Little League World Series elimination game. Tennessee plays Hawaii in a rematch of the slaughter where the Honolulu kids belted five more home runs to bring their total to 16.
Who knows, maybe Hawaii will take Tennessee for granted, but then again, it didn’t anyone for granted in dominating the opponents.
Tennessee did its part, it won its next game to please the manager and his coaches. After a scoreless first inning, it scored three times in the last of the second, twice more in the third, and added two more in the fifth. The lone Texas run came in the third as it was toned down at bat and by opposing pitcher Jason Porter, who hurled the route, gave up four hits, struck out eight and walked one.
