ACADEMY EXTRAVAGANZ CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

There will be a grand total of 126 schools participating in the second annual Albuquerque Extravaganz Cross Country Invitational Saturday and run at Albuquerque Academy, the site of the upcoming state cross country championships.
The event will begin at 9 a.m. for the 5A girls and followed by the 5A boys. Next comes the 1-2A girls at 10:30 a.m.followed by the 1-2A boys, then comes the 4A girls at noon followed by the 4A boys, and winding up at 1:30 p.m. with the 3A girls followed by the 3A boys.
A total of 16 schools from Santa Fe and the surrounding areas are entered. In 5A, there will be Capital and Santa Fe High, in 4A, there’s Espanola Valley, Los Alamos, Pojoaque Valley and Taos. in 3A, Santa Fe Prep, Santa Fe Indian School, St. Michael’s, Raton and Robertson, and in 1-2A Academy of Technology and The Classics.
There are 46 schools entered in 1-2A, 24 in 3A, 29 in 4A, and 27 in 5A.
The former site of the state cross country championships, Rio Rancho, still holds its Rio Rancho Jamboree.
