Freshman Tagoya Pedro of Laguna-Acuma led his team to a one-two individual finish

Laguna-Acuma took the first two individual places, and Los Lunas the two after that, while in the team scoring, Pecos finished third, Santa Fe High fourth and the host Santa Fe Indian School fifth in the boys 500 meters of the annual John Grimsley Memorial Cross Country Invitational over the Pueblo course in Cochetti.
It was a stellar run for victorious freshman Tagoya Pedro of Laguna-Acuma in 18:15, and close behind was sophomore teammate Lucas Williams in 18:21. Third place senior Micah Sparks of Los Lunas was right on the heels of the two by turning in a 18:25.
Pecos’ initial finisher was 7th place senior Elijah Lujan clocking 19:09. For Santa Fe High, it was sophomore Daniel Buermeyer running 15th in 19:37, and for the host Indian School the first to finish was sophomore Matthew Valencia coming in 20th in 19:48.
In the team scoring, Los Lunas finished on top with 41 points, 10 better than runner-up Laguna-Acuma, with Pecos scoring 76 for third, Santa Fe tallying 131, and the Braves 144, After that it was Pojoaque Valley with 172, Belen with 191, Raton with also 191, Robertson with 211, and 10th was Jemez Valley with 218.
