DVS to host “The State of Rural Transportation” Conference

The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) is hosting a conference tomorrow morning in Albuquerque to address the lack of transportation options available for many rural veterans in the state. These lack of options are a main reason, according to many of these veterans, that they neglect their VA and other health care needs.

The State of Rural Transportation conference is from 9am-noon at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial, located at 1100 Louisiana Boulevard SE.

DVS has invited representatives from transportation agencies and companies, veterans organizations, community service providers, and legislators to discuss partnerships and other solutions to help provide better transportation options for rural-area veterans to use for their medical appointments.
