Well at least the Monte del Sol girls got into the scoring column. Unlike the 80-0 last-game shut down against Pojoaque Valley, the Dragons did turn in some points in the Friday 68-15 loss to visiting Wingate.
It dropped Monte del Sol to 0-5, but it did get six team-high points from sophomore Jundia Martinez and fellow sophomore Nydia Cruz added three. The Dragons play next against Socorro today.
In boys play, it was another loss by Monte del Sol, its fifth in a row after a 3-0 start, in falling to Dulce,50-44.
At Pojoaque’s Ben Lujan court where it hosts the annual Lujan tournament, Santa Fe Indian School’s boys dropped a close one, 38-36, versus the Elks to drop to 5-3 while the home team advanced to 8-2
