Now in the second half of the Triple A Pacific Coast Baseball League, the Albuquerque Isotopes have truly made a move from the bottom to the top.
At the halfway mark the Colorado franchise team were last in the standings, but it has gotten away to a very impressive second half in first place at 9-2, and presently hold two-game leads over Las Vegas, Round Rock, and Tacoma, with the three at 7-4.
Oklahoma City, which had finished on top in the first half, is now 6-5 and tied with Sacramento for fourth place.
Salt Lake (4-6) Reno (4-7), and El Paso and Sugar Land are 2-9 in the rest of the standings, but the greatest improvement has been made by Albuquerque.
On Friday, Albuquerque shellacked Oklahoma City, 10-1, Round Rock defeated Sugar Land, 9-1, Sacramento got past Salt Lake, 8-1, Las Vegas turned back El Paso, 11-7, and Tacoma edged Reno, 5-4.
Saturday, Albuquerque won over Oklahoma City, 4-2, Round Rock beat Sugar Land, 9-1, Salt Lake outscored Sacramento, 14-6, Las Vegas bested El Paso, 8-3, and Tacoma nipped Reno, 5-2.
The Isotopes are at Oklahoma City Sunday. Elsewhere, Tacoma is at Reno, Sugarland at Round Rock, and Las Vegas at El Paso.
