Boys Little League Baseball and Girls Little League Softball is going through its regionals to piece together their World Series fields, the boys as usual in Williamsport, Pa., and the girls in Greenville, N.C.
For the second straight year, the LLBWS and LLSWS will showcase an extended field of 20 and 12 teams, respectively, up from 16 to 10 in previous years, and with a grand total of 54 teams in the contests prior to the World Series.
And it’s again jam-packed and exciting as the ones before.
ESPN’s coverage of the boys 10-12 ages started on August 3 with the United States regional tournaments, and Williamsport will have its field in order on August 16, and will be capped off with its U.S. and International finals on August 26, and the championship on the next day.
As for the softball, it began on August 6 until the final on August 13.
At Williamsport, this year’s Major League Baseball Classic will feature the Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies playing at historic Bowman Field in downtown Williamsport, and can be watched on ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcast at a scheduled 7 p.m.
