With the stretch run winding down, the Albuquerque Isotopes hung among the frontrunners with back-to-back wins over El Paso in the Triple A Pacific Baseball League.
On Saturday, Albuquerque turned back visiting El Paso, the franchise of the San Diego Padres, 6-4, and on Sunday, it was the Isotopes prevailing 11-6, in 10 innings over El Paso.
Now in fourth place three games behind in the 10-team league, the Colorado Rockies franchise Albuquerque team is 38-31 and just behind 1st place Round Rock (Texas), second place Las Vegas (Oakland), and 3rd place Reno (Arizona), and are home Tuesday night, 6:05, to Oklahoma City, owned by the Dodgers, and in sixth place four games back.
