How to report flooding
1. Identify location of flooding.
a. Is it on private or state land?
b. Is it on Forest Service land?
c. What county are you in?
2. Call appropriate agency a. If flooding is on state, private, or Forest Service land call the appropriate county
emergency manager

3. Agency response
a. Agencies will respond to flooding with appropriate response in a timely manner.

Prepare for flash flooding now Burned areas are at high risk of flash flooding; even a distant rainstorm can quickly
flood your location
• Stay ahead of disaster and make a plan
• Monitor the weather through TV, radio, reliable social media channels and phones
• Use a weather radio
• Plan evacuation routes
• Build an Emergency Kit • Have a basic supply kit ready to go with enough supplies to last each family member at least 3 days, including food and water, clothes, important documents, medicine, and
pets and pet supplies. • Make sure everyone in your home knows what to do during a flash flood
emergency
• Ensure everyone knows where to meet
• Create a phone/call tree if needed
• Follow Evacuation Instructions from Local Officials and News Outlets
• Evacuate immediately if instructed by local authorities
• Local authorities will communicate where to find shelter
Information needed for flood damage assessments • Please call the City of Las Vegas 505-454-1401, extension 1403 and provide the following
information:
• Resident name, physical address, and contact phone numbers
• Property account number (can be acquired on property tax bill, starts with an R)
• Brief description of damage
