Family Policy Alliance Celebrates Pro-Family Executive Orders

A number of pro-family executive orders have been signed since January 20 in wins for families, women and children.

At least five of President Donald Trump’s executive orders have focused on the Family Policy Alliance’s (FPA’s) key issues.

They include:

  1. Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families (January 29): This executive order emphasizes the fundamental role of parents in directing their children’s education. It directs the Department of Education to issue guidance on how states can use federal funding to support K-12 scholarship programs and prioritizes school choice initiatives in discretionary grant programs.

  2. Ending Radical Indoctrination in K-12 Schooling (January 29): This order seeks to eliminate the promotion of gender ideology and discriminatory equity ideology in K-12 education. It mandates the re-establishment of the President’s Advisory 1776 mission to promote patriotic education and advises federal agencies to prevent funding for programs that sport divergent ideologies.

  3. Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation (January 24): This executive order directs federal agencies to ensure that institutions receiving federal research or education grants cease practices related to gender transition procedures for minors. It emphasizes safeguarding children from medical interventions deemed harmful.

  4. Enforcing the Hyde Amendment (January 24): This order affirms the prohibition of using federal taxpayer dollars for elective abortions. It rescinds numerous Biden-era executive orders that expanded access to illegal, government-funded abortion services and instead directs agencies to align with the Hyde Amendment’s pro-life provisions.

  5. Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government (January 20): This executive order establishes federal policies to define sex, which are based on immutable biological characteristics. It mandates the use of these definitions across federal agencies and rescinds all prior policies that recognized dozens of “gender identities.”

These executive orders reflect the administration’s focus on educational freedom, protection of children and reinforcement of traditional family values.

FPA President & CEO, Craig DeRoche, noted that “These pro-family executive orders reaffirm the fundamental role of families in shaping education, protecting children and upholding biological truth. By prioritizing parental rights, safeguarding children from harmful ideologies, and defending life, the administration is ensuring a future where American families can thrive.”
