An image of a pregnancy test.
Another––of a coat hanger.
It sounds like satire…but it’s part of a Women’s History Month display at a public high school in Fairfax County, Virginia.
And it doesn’t stop there. Some of the other ABCs this school displayed include:
“J is for Justice” –– The Statue of Liberty flanked by transgender, Ukrainian, and Palestinian flags.
“L is for Leadership” –– Images of Kamala Harris, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Michelle Obama.
“M is for Mansplain.”
“T is for Trans Women.”
The list goes on.
The school pushed back against parental concern by praising the display as an exercise of “critical thinking” on the part of the students, since the display itself was student-led.
But these ideas aren’t born in a vacuum. The Fairfax County school display is a clear-cut case of radical agendas in schools––and sparks serious doubt that disagreement from students–much less parents–who object to any part of the display would be met with a civil discussion.
Progressive indoctrination is still being pushed in far too many of our public schools today. And although the Trump administration has made efforts to eliminate Critical Race Theory and transgender ideology from public schools, there’s only so much the federal government can (or should) be able to control at the local level––and progressive Democrats are pushing back harder than ever, even subversively renaming programs to ensure they are retained.
That means many of the real battles are taking place at the local level, especially in local school boards. And that’s why the work of Family Policy Alliance Foundation is more important now than ever before.
Two years ago, with the support of many friends like you, our team embarked on a journey to create the School Board Academy. The goal was simple, yet profound: train and equip brave, conservative school board members to counter the Left’s infiltration of our public schools.
We knew from years of experience that these champions would require boldness, training, and resources to stand up for biblical values while serving on school boards that were determined to push harmful gender ideology, DEI, and comprehensive sex ed on our children.
The results speak for themselves.
Today, School Board Academy graduates in nearly every state are standing up for conservative values and bringing significant change to their local communities––fighting back against poisonous ideologies, prioritizing parental rights, and returning the focus to upholding rigorous standards of education.
To ensure that these courageous leaders are equipped to win tough races in blue and purple states, we launched our Christians Engaged Campaign School, which offers conservative school board candidates the guidance, resources, and connections they need to run a successful campaign.
Patricio, I don’t ever want to hear another story about “A is for Abortion” or images of coat hangers being celebrated in school displays. Yet I know that the road ahead won’t be easy, even in conservative states. Thousands of principled school board members across the nation are in desperate need of training, support, and guidance on how to stand for truth in these challenging times.
In short, we need your help not only to continue but also to grow this training program. That’s why I’m so thankful for a generous ministry friend who has pledged to match gifts to support this educational work, now up to $500,000.
That means that your gift—small or large—will be DOUBLED if given by May 31!
