Tee It Up at the 24th Annual Mesilla Valley Amateur Invitational

The 24th Annual Mesilla Valley Amateur Invitational returns August 23–24, 2025, with a projected $15,000 payout and a limited field of just 144 players. This popular event fills up quickly, so golfers are encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as possible.

The weekend kicks off with a practice round on Friday, August 22. Green fees are just $40 (cart included) if played before 3:00 PM. Tee times for the practice round can be booked up to seven days in advance.

Tournament play begins Saturday, August 23, with tee times starting from both the 1st and 10th tees. The 2nd through 5th Flights, along with the Women’s Flight, will tee off between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM. The Championship and 1st Flights will begin later in the day, with tee times from 12:10 PM to 1:10 PM. The same schedule will be followed on Sunday, August 24, with slightly extended afternoon tee times for the Championship and 1st Flights, running until 1:30 PM.

Entry fees are $250 for regular participants, $200 for collegiate players, and $175 for NMSU passholders. Each entry includes two tournament rounds, cart fees, range balls, a tee gift, post-round appetizers, a daily skins game, and event payouts awarded in Golf Shop credit.

The format is stroke play across all divisions. The Championship Flight will play without handicap, open only to players with a maximum 3.0 index. Players over 50 in this flight will play from the blue tee markers. All other flights will use 80% of player handicaps. The 1st and 2nd Flights will also play from the blue tees, while players aged 70 and older in these flights will move to the white tees. Players in the 3rd Flight and above will all play from the white tees. Women will play from the yellow tees, unless they are competing in the Women’s Championship Flight, in which case they will also play from the blue tees. A Round 2 handicap adjustment will apply to any player who shoots below net 69.

Payouts for the Championship Flight will be based on gross scores. Non-collegiate players in this flight will be eligible for payout. All other flights will be scored and paid out based on net scores.
