NMSU 2025 Homecoming Events Newsletter

Get ready, Aggies! Homecoming 2025 is almost here, and campus is gearing up for two unforgettable days of pride, tradition, and celebration.

Mark your calendar for November 7–8 and join us in Las Cruces for a weekend packed with events you won’t want to miss!

2025 Distinguished Alumni Awards

Friday, November 7 | 5 p.m.

On Friday, November 7, join us for the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner and ceremony, presented by the NMSU Foundation. Each NMSU college is represented by an outstanding alum who has made exceptional contributions to their community and to their discipline. We also present our two most prestigious Distinguished Alumni Awards: the Young Alumni Service Award and the James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service.

P.S. Is there someone you think is a great candidate for an NMSU Foundation Distinguished Alumni Award? The 2026 nominations are open now!

NMSU Homecoming Parade

Saturday, November 8 | 9 a.m.

Bring the whole family to University Avenue to cheer on the 2025 ASNMSU Homecoming Parade! Kicking off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, the parade heads south from the Pan Am Center all the way onto the Horseshoe. This year’s theme is CrimSin City — and we promise you that everyone who comes out will have a sinfully fabulous time! Keep an eye out for marchers passing out candy for the kiddos and doggie treats for your four-legged besties!

Tailgate Time!

Saturday, November 8 | 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It wouldn’t be a football game without a tailgate! This year, the NMSU Foundation partnered with the Goal Line Club to create the biggest, rowdiest, most spirited tailgate experience ever! But — you have to be a Goal Line Club member to be part of the action. Plan to join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 8 under the white tent on the south side of the Pan Am parking lot (corner of Arrowhead Dr. and Stewart St).

NMSU Football vs Kennesaw State Owls

Saturday, November 8 | Kickoff at 2 p.m.

For this year’s Homecoming matchup, our Aggies take on the Kennesaw State Owls, coming at us all the way from Georgia, at Aggie Memorial Stadium! Kickoff is at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 8.

This year, a special guest will play the national anthem before the start of the Homecoming game. NMSU College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Alum SGM Mike Cano, U.S. Army (Retired) ’93 — who played in Pershing’s Own, the Army’s premier musical organization — will perform on trumpet alongside the Pride of New Mexico.

Silver and Golden Aggies Reunion – Class of 2000 & 1975

Saturday, November 8

Homecoming has a special meaning for our Silver and Golden Aggies Reunion participants celebrating their 25- and 50-year anniversaries of graduation! The NMSU Foundation will welcome them to a specially designated viewing area for the Homecoming parade on Saturday, November 8, host them at the Goal Line Club tailgate before the game, and invite them to watch the Aggies from the comfort of the luxurious Club 27 at the 50-yard line of Aggie Memorial Stadium.

Are you a 2000 or 1975 graduate? Make plans to join the reunion!

Don’t Forget Pistol Pete!

Some of the best Homecoming memories include Pistol Pete! The NMSU Foundation is joining in the fun by handing out Pistol Pete mustaches to the first 1,000 people who enter Aggie Memorial Stadium at the November 8 Homecoming football game against Kennesaw State! Get there early to claim your ’stache!

Did you know that Pistol Pete is actually four dedicated students who take on the serious responsibility of representing NMSU to the world? But — being Pete comes with a cost. Pistol Pete attire and travel expenses add up to about $2,500 per Pete — a significant financial burden.

Your gift to the Complete the Pete campaign ensures these students have the resources they need to keep the legend of Pistol Pete alive! By covering essential costs, you help the students behind the mustache focus on what they do best: spreading Aggie pride.
