Dig the Ditches Before the Water Comes
Wow, way to start off The Roar with such an encouraging verse, right?
The kings and the armies of Israel, Judah, and Edom, and all of the animals that followed them, were about to have to face death by dehydration. Pretty grueling, right? Spoiler alert: they don’t!
As you read further along, you’ll find that the Lord didn’t just have water appear right away but that they were commanded to do hard labor by making the valley “… full of ditches.” (2 Kings 3:16)
Now “…in the morning, when the grain offering was offered…the land was filled with water.” (2 Kings 3:20)
Without wind or rain, the Lord provided for and sustained His people in the miraculous way He does.
We can relate this to seasons of our lives where the Lord may be asking you to prepare before He delivers His promise! Sometimes the work may be hard or may even seem backwards to you. You may not be able to hear wind or see rain clouds to help provide some type of carnal reassurance. But God’s word never fails!
“It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
This is demonstrated daily in the continued story of Santa Fe Christian authored by The Creator! Join us in praise as we thank Him for His continued blessings for provision with divine faculty and staff and an excellent first quarter filled with spiritual and academic growth. AND we know He’s not finished yet! Make sure to stay subscribed to hear the good news of how He is authoring the story of Santa Fe Christian and how He brings His promises to fruition. Even without wind and rain.
A Note from Mrs. Torres
Hello!
As we approach the end of our First Quarter, I want to commend our students for their hard work. Adjusting to school, and for some of them, a new school, can be challenging. However, our students are more than capable, and I am pleased with the academic and spiritual growth we are seeing.
At SFC, we want our students to encourage one another, form lasting friendships, and learn what it means to serve others with kindness. This is just as important as the lessons in math, reading, and science, because it reflects the character of Christ we are striving to cultivate.
Fall Opportunities for Faith in Action
This fall, we are especially excited about two opportunities for our students to live out their faith through service.
- Operation Christmas Child — Our students will be packing boxes that will bless children around the world with gifts and the message of the Gospel.
- Blessing Baskets — In December, students will prepare baskets for seniors in our community. Each class will fill them with essentials and thoughtful items, then pray over them before delivering them to the local senior center.
Projects like these give our children a chance to see firsthand the real impact of generosity and prayer.
More to Celebrate
We are also looking forward to celebrating Grandparents Day and the beginnings of our new Parent Support Association (PSA)!
We are excited about what God has already done in this First Quarter and look forward to what He will continue to do in the months ahead.
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”
1 Peter 4:10
