Grow and Flourish with Us on February 18th

This annual exhibit uses our extensive collection to give insight into what makes the art of New Mexico so unique. This year we will explore saints and symbols through historic and contemporary santos, talk about what exactly the traditional arts are, and take a look at the tools that early New Mexicans depended on to make their living. Featured artists include straw applique artist Timothy Valdez, santeros Alcario Otero and Vincent Campos, and santeras Amy Garcia Briggs and Catherine Robles Shaw.

GROW AND FLOURISH

We are excited to showcase a vital expansion of our permanent collection with several never-before-seen pieces from our 2025 acquisitions. A spectacular and significant selection of historic and contemporary acquisitions including a collection of New Mexican and Mexican pieces very generously donated by author and collector Martha Egan. Also showcased will be examples of historic and contemporary furniture as well as a selection of pieces from Traditional Spanish Market’s adult and youth artists. Each of these acquisitions come with their own story of creation and collection and we love to have this opportunity to share that with you. Works include pieces by Matthew Duran, Irvin Trujillo, Nicolas Herrera, Bo López, Marie Romero Cash, and historic artists José Aragón, José  Benito Orega, and Molleno.
