We have good news and bad news from the New Mexico Legislature: The radical abortion concealment bill, SB 30, passed the House of Representatives on a 39-27 vote late Monday afternoon, despite the fact that the majority of New Mexicans want more abortion restrictions, not less. Every House Republican voted against the measure. It now heads to the Governor’s desk to be signed. Contact her office here to VETO SB 30: (505) 476-2200, toll-free: (833) 520-0020, or email here.

This radical bill repeals the vital statistics reporting requirements for induced abortions, effectively hiding critical data on these procedures from public view—while forcing taxpayers to foot nearly $50 million to fund the abortion industry.
“What we’re choosing to erase is the number of heartbeats we’re ending,” said Rep. Rebecca Dow (R-Silver City). She also added, “If we saw a percentage of underage abortions, would we also see a corresponding number of abortions reported [to authorities]?”
Rep. Jonathan Henry (R-Artesia) utterly destroyed the false claims made by bill co-sponsor Rep. Janelle Anyanonu (D-Albuquerque) during floor debate. She claimed that it is a “felony” for Texas women to seek abortions in New Mexico. Rep. Henry challenged her: “You keep saying it’s a felony for women to come over to the state of New Mexico for an abortion. It’s actually a civil case. Is a civil case a felony?” She finally admitted that, indeed, it was not a felony. What else are they lying about?
Give your gift here today, because every life is worth fighting for.
“The reality is that pro-abortion allies in the legislature are involved in a pattern of concealing abortion-related atrocities from the public—while forcing taxpayers to fund it for nearly $50 million,” said Elisa Martinez, executive director of New Mexico Alliance for Life. “They’re perpetuating an abortion holocaust and cover-up at taxpayers’ expense in New Mexico.”
Sadly, radical Democrat Rep. Art De La Cruz (D-Bernalillo) complained about a Biblical reference made by Rep. Henry to Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” De La Cruz angrily declared on the House Floor that this passage, “applied to Jeremiah, not every fetus.”
GOOD NEWS: Keep up the pressure! As the 2026 legislative session comes to a close at 12 noon on Thursday (February 19), the clock may run out on the most dangerous bill this session—SB 189, which seeks to force insurers to cover elective abortions and gender surgeries. Read more here on SB 279
