A Call For Nominations

Nominations are now open through May 15 for the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Awards, the highest honors presented to New Mexico State University graduates. Since 1956, more than 400 exceptional Aggies have been recognized for achievements, leadership and service that elevate NMSU and strengthen communities across the globe.

Submit an application for the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Award 

Each year during Homecoming weekend, the NMSU Foundation proudly presents three major awards:

• Distinguished Alumni Awards – Recognizing an outstanding graduate from each academic college, including two from the College of Arts and Sciences

• James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service – The university’s highest alumni honor

• Young Alumni Service Award – Celebrating an impactful graduate under the age of 40

You can learn more about past honorees here. Nominations are open to any living NMSU graduate, and self-nominations are welcome. Full criteria and nomination forms are available on our website.

For nearly seven decades, these awards have honored Aggies who reflect the excellence, spirit, and values of New Mexico State University. We invite you to continue this tradition by nominating alumni who are making a difference at NMSU and beyond.

Please submit nominations by May 15. The awards ceremony will take place during Homecoming weekend 2026, with guest registration opening later this summer.
