New Mexico Big-Game Draw Results Are Now Available
The wait is over for hunters across the state—New Mexico’s big-game draw results have officially been posted. Applicants can now check to see if they were selected for the upcoming hunting season.
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish releases draw results each spring, and for the 2026–2027 season, results became available on April 22.
How to Check Your Results
Hunters can access their results through the Department’s online licensing system. To view your results, log in to your personal account using the link below:
Results may also be accessed by phone or by visiting a New Mexico Department of Game and Fish office.
What Happens Next?
If you were successful in the draw, you’ll be able to proceed with purchasing your license and preparing for your hunt. Licenses can be printed directly from your account or obtained through authorized vendors.
For those who were not selected, refunds for license fees are typically processed shortly after results are released. Credit card refunds are generally issued within about 10 business days, while other payment methods may take longer.
Understanding the Draw System
New Mexico uses a random draw system for big-game hunting licenses. Unlike many other states, there is no preference or bonus point system—meaning every applicant has an equal chance of being selected, regardless of how many times they’ve applied.
This system creates opportunity for both new and experienced hunters, making each year’s draw an exciting and unpredictable event.
Important Reminders
- Draw results are released annually in mid-to-late April
- Applicants must log into their accounts to view results
- Successful applicants must purchase required licenses before hunting
- Unsuccessful applicants will receive refunds for license fees
Stay Prepared for Next Season
If you didn’t draw this year, don’t be discouraged. With New Mexico’s equal-opportunity system, every new application is another fresh chance. Be sure to stay updated on application deadlines and requirements for the next draw cycle.
