Background

MAYDAY, or International Workers’ Day, is a global day of action honoring the struggles and victories of workers. In New Mexico, immigrant workers are essential to our economy and communities, yet continue to face systemic injustice, exploitation, and the threat of deportation.

This year’s coordinated May Day actions build on a long tradition of organizing to demand fair labor conditions, immigrant rights, and policies that reflect the dignity and humanity of all people. Across the state, communities are sending a clear message: our communities will not be silenced, and our rights are non-negotiable.
