On behalf of the NMSU Foundation, I’m pleased to share the exciting news that Dr. Joseph Bull has been named the next provost and vice president for academic affairs at New Mexico State University, pending approval by the Board of Regents.
Dr. Bull joins NMSU from Portland State University, where he currently serves as dean of the Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science. A nationally recognized researcher and accomplished academic leader, he brings a strong record of advancing research, supporting student success, and strengthening engineering and STEM programs. He is an enrolled citizen of the Delaware Tribe of Indians, and the first and only Native American dean of engineering in the country.
Dr. Bull will succeed Dr. Lakshmi Reddi, who is serving as interim provost and chief academic officer through May 1, after which he will become executive vice president and provost at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Dr. Reddi previously served as dean of the College of Engineering. We appreciate Dr. Reddi’s leadership and dedication to NMSU as the university moves forward into this next chapter.
As members of the College of Engineering community, we know you share our commitment to excellence, innovation, and impact. We are confident Dr. Bull will be a strong partner to the NMSU Foundation in advancing these priorities for our students, faculty, and the region.
