The New Mexico Department of Wildlife’s 2026-2027 license year is officially under way! All 2025-2026 hunting and fishing licenses are invalid as of April 1, 2026.Over-the-counter hunting and fishing licenses are now available for purchasethrough your online account, in-person at Department offices and vendors throughout the state, or via telephone by calling the Information Center at 888-248-6866.
April 7 Harvest Report Deadline
Tuesday, April 7 is the deadline for submitting harvest reports for 2025-2026 Barbary sheep, ibex, javelina, oryx and trapper license holders. If you don’t file your harvest report for these species by April 7and you applied for this year’s big-game draw, all of your draw applications will be rejected. Updates available for the E-Tag mobile app
If you plan to use the New Mexico E-Tag mobile app to tag any big-game animal or turkey during this license year, please delete and reinstall the newest version prior to hunting.
Animals or turkeys may only be tagged within the hunt dates. Prior to the start of the hunt, the app will display “Not Yet Available.”
