DA Serna Announces Dixon Triple Homicide Defendants to Stay in Jail until Trial

By DA Serna

First Judicial District Attorney Marco P. Serna announced that a Judge agreed with his office ruling to detain Roger L. Gage and John D. Powell until they stand trial for the brutal killings of three people near Dixon, New Mexico. Serna asked the judge to detain the defendants in order to protect the children and families of northern New Mexico while he seeks justice for the three murder victims and their families.

“I’m grateful the court agreed with our argument that these defendants pose an extreme danger to the safety of our community and ordered them to remain in custody until we try them for the Dixon triple homicide” said District Attorney Marco P. Serna. “Crimes as cold-blooded, calculated and brazen as those we allege were committed by the defendants demonstrate an extreme risk to society and I will continue to fight to keep the most dangerous offenders off our streets.”

District Attorney Serna charged Gage and Powell each with three counts of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery, Conspiracy and Tampering with evidence.
