Santa Fe National Forest Fuelwood Permits Available at Select Locations

Fue/wood permits available Monday at Pecos/Las Vegas District Office and SFNF

Santa Fe, NM, April 12, 2024 -Starting Monday April 15, the SFNF will begin selling fuelwood permits for dead and down, and green juniper at the SFNF Headquarters and the Pecos/Las Vegas District Office. Free use permits will also be available.

Dead and downed wood will be $20 for ten (10) cords and green juniper wood from Rowe Mesa for $10 per one (1) cord. Fuelwood permits and dead and down permits will be available at the Coyote, Cuba, Española, and Jemez District Offices beginning May 1. These permits can be purchased with cash, check, or credit card.

District dead and down fuelwood permits are valid throughout the Santa Fe National Forest, except in designated wilderness and other excluded areas. Fuelwood maps are posted on the SFNF website.
