Milkweed and Nectar Planting at Calle Alvarado Park

If you love butterflies or just enjoy helping out in the community, there’s a great opportunity coming up in Santa Fe. Keep Santa Fe Beautiful is looking for volunteers to help plant milkweed and nectar flowers. Why? Because monarch butterflies need these plants to survive. Their population has been shrinking, and this is a simple, hands-on way to make a real difference.

The event is happening on Wednesday, May 21, from 9:00 in the morning until noon at Calle Alvarado Park, located at 2234 Calle Alvarado, right here in Santa Fe. It’s just three hours, and anyone can jump in to help.

You don’t need to be an expert—just bring some water to stay hydrated, a pair of gardening gloves, and a digging tool if you have one. They’ll provide everything else you need.

If you’ve got any questions or want to know more before you show up, you can call Carol at 505-955-2215. It’s a simple way to help the environment and meet some great people in the process.
