NMSU’s Mariachi Orgullo: Making community through music

Mariachi never fails to thrill, whether you are new to New Mexico or your family has been here for generations!

At NMSU, Mariachi Orgullo de Nuevo México has been thrilling students, alumni, and our community since 2021, bringing traditional music of the Borderland to new audiences while performing alongside the Pride of New Mexico marching band.

For the student-musicians – like Alan Gonzalez-Fraire and Daniela Robinson – Mariachi Orgullo is about cultural pride, sharing the beauty of the music, and celebrating community. We hope you will celebrate them with a generous gift for uniforms and instruments — which they currently pay for themselves.

Listen to Alan and Daniela share the importance of Mariachi Orgullo — and then make your secure gift below! Muchas gracias to those who have already made a gift. ✨
