Last week, NMSU President, Dr. Valerio Ferme, announced to the campus community that Dr. Lakshmi Reddi, interim Provost and Chief Academic Officer, has accepted the position of Executive Vice President and Provost at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). His last day at NMSU will be June 1.
While this transition is now public, we wanted to reach out directly because of the meaningful connections many of you have shared with Dr. Reddi during his eight years of service as Dean of the College of Engineering. He has been a trusted leader, a thoughtful partner, and an advocate who helped strengthen programs and relationships across the college. We know he holds a special place in the hearts of our donors and alumni.
In addition to his long service to the College of Engineering, Dr. Reddi took on the role of interim provost in 2024, helping guide the university through a key transition. The university expects to share an update on the next provost soon.
We join the university in congratulating Dr. Reddi on this well‑deserved opportunity.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or simply wish to share a note of appreciation for Dr. Reddi’s service.
Thank you for being an essential part of the Aggie Engineering community. We are grateful for your ongoing commitment and for the trust you place in the NMSU Foundation.
Go Aggies!
