The North Central Regional Transit District Blue Bus will once
again provide fare-free bus service to support pilgrims traveling to the annual Santuario
de Chimayó pilgrimage on Good Friday, April 3, 2026.
Each year, tens of thousands of pilgrims take part in this centuries-old tradition,
journeying to El Santuario de Chimayó—one of the most important Catholic pilgrimage
destinations in the United States. NCRTD’s Blue Bus plays a key role in supporting a
safe and accessible journey for participants from across the region.
To accommodate increased demand, The Blue Bus will operate both its regular Route
150 Chimayó service and the special Route 151 Santuario Express.
Santuario Express (Route 151)
The Santuario Express will operate on Good Friday, April 3, providing fare-free, round-
trip service between:
• Cities of Gold Park & Ride (Pojoaque)
• Juan Medina Road in Chimayó
Service will run hourly from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., offering a convenient and efficient
transportation option for pilgrims traveling to and from the Santuario.
Route 150 Chimayó
The regular Blue Bus Route 150 will operate on its normal weekday schedule, providing
additional fare-free service between Española and Chimayó along NM 76.
Due to heavy pedestrian traffic the stop at El Santuario de Chimayó will be closed on
Good Friday. Riders should plan to use nearby designated stops.
