Two Jews Stabbed in London’s Golders Green

North London’s Jewish neighborhood of Golders Green was the site of an anti-Semitic stabbing attack this morning. Two people were stabbed and remain in critical condition. According to Ynet, security volunteers detained the suspect following the attack until police arrived and took him into custody. The incident comes amid a wave of arson attacks targeting synagogues in Britain, which authorities are investigating for possible links to Iranian proxies.

Starmer also thanked the groups making the arrest. “Thank you to Shomrim, Hatzola and the police for acting swiftly. Those responsible will be brought to justice.”

The security organization Shomrim said a suspect “was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and attempting to stab Jewish members of the public” on Wednesday morning.

The incident follows arson attacks in recent weeks targeting Jewish sites in London, including a synagogue and a charity’s ambulances in Golders Green.

No one was injured in the arson incidents, which all happened within a few miles of each other. Several people, ranging in age from teens to people in their 40s, have been arrested and charged.

Britain’s chief rabbi has said that U.K. Jews are facing a campaign of violence and intimidation.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a statement on social media condemning the attack, emphasizing that no Jew anywhere in the world should be targeted because of their faith. “It’s time for the world to wake up and fight this vicious wave of Jew-hatred with all possible means. We in Israel will not stay silent as our Jewish sisters and brothers are threatened and attacked around the world,” he said.

The victims include a man in his 70s and another in his 30s. The Fellowship and its supporters join others around the world in praying for their recovery and for an end to the senseless anti-Semitism targeting Jewish communities globally.
