New Mexico’s Abortion Crisis After Roe

History was made four years ago when the United States Supreme Court overturned the unconstitutional and tragic Roe v. Wade decision, returning abortion policy to the states. While the pro-life movement celebrates this momentous occasion nationwide, New Mexico has unfortunately seen the greatest expansion of abortion since its legalization in the state.

POST ROE V. WADE IN NEW MEXICO:

•  Taxpayers forced to fund over $50 million toward the abortion up-to-birth industry profits.
•  Elective abortion rate increase of over 200%.
•  71% of abortions from out-of-state.
•  Pro-abortion Democrats force New Mexicans to fund two $10 million abortion centers.

These sobering statistics, compiled by New Mexico Alliance for Life from open records requests and New Mexico Department of Health data, remind us that our work in New Mexico is more urgent than ever. While other states have advanced protections for the unborn, our state has become a destination for abortion. We remain committed to reversing this trend through education, advocacy, and compassionate support for women and families.
