Flags of Fellowship Brings Communities Together in Remembrance and Solidarity

Flags of Fellowship is bringing individuals, churches, synagogues, and universities together across the country in a shared act of remembrance and solidarity with Israel and the Jewish people.

At the heart of the movement is a display of 1,200 Israeli flags, with each flag representing a life lost in the October 7, 2023 attacks in Israel.

The displays are intended to serve as a visible reminder of those who were killed while also expressing support for Jewish communities and those who continue to be affected by the events and their aftermath.

A Nationwide Expression of Solidarity

Flags of Fellowship has grown into a movement involving people and organizations from a variety of communities and backgrounds. Churches, synagogues, universities, and individuals are participating by displaying Israeli flags as an act of remembrance.

For Christian participants, the effort also draws upon the biblical call to pray for Jerusalem and care for people who are suffering.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” — Psalm 122:6

Organizers are encouraging people to remember those who lost their lives, pray for peace in Jerusalem, and pray for the protection and comfort of people in Israel and Jewish communities around the world.

A Call to Prayer

Prayer remains an important part of the Flags of Fellowship effort. Participants are encouraged to pray for those who are afraid, grieving, displaced, or otherwise in need.

Heavenly Father, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for Your protection and comfort over the people of Israel and Jewish people everywhere. Strengthen those who are afraid, provide for those in need, and remind Your people that they are loved and not alone. Amen.

Remembering 1,200 Lives

The 1,200 flags provide a visual representation of the human cost of the October 7 attacks. Rather than allowing those lives to become simply a number, each individual flag represents a person whose life was lost.

Through public displays, remembrance, prayer, and community participation, Flags of Fellowship seeks to communicate a simple message of solidarity:

We stand with Israel.
