IDF Discovers Hezbollah Rockets

In the latest counterterror updates, the IDF announced that it eliminated two Hamas commanders in Gaza yesterday, while Hezbollah rockets were discovered in one of the buffer zones in southern Lebanon. JNS reports that the Hamas officials were eliminated in two separate strikes and had roles in training terror operatives ahead of October 7, 2023, as well as producing weapons and advancing plots to attack Israeli soldiers and civilians.

Rafat Abu Zamar, a company commander in the Hamas operations headquarters, was killed in a strike in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Strip, according to the IDF.

“The terrorist advanced and led training for operatives in Hamas ahead of the Oct. 7 massacre, and more recently continued to train operatives and develop Hamas’s combat capabilities,” it stated.

A separate attack in the Gaza City area eliminated Hamas operative Muhammad Khader Fahmi Aghour, the IDF said, adding that he was involved in producing weapons for the terror group.

Both terrorists “advanced terrorist attacks targeting IDF troops and Israeli civilians and operated to restore the terrorist organization’s capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire,” said the military.

Around 32 rockets were found in southern Lebanon in launchers left behind by Hezbollah operatives following the ceasefire agreement. Troops discovered the launchers aimed toward Israel and still ready for use. They were promptly destroyed, along with a nearby tunnel shaft. Counterterror operations along the strategic Ali Taher Ridge are also ongoing. The IDF says that 1,100 tons of explosives have been used to demolish around 1.2 miles of tunnels beneath the hills.

According to JNS, 72% of Israelis favor the IDF maintaining a presence in Gaza amid continued terror threats. In a survey last month, 58% of Israelis said they do not believe a U.S.-brokered disarmament plan will be implemented or that the terror group will agree to it.

The Fellowship and our supporters pray for the brave men and women of the IDF as counterterror operations continue. May they continue to serve under God’s protection and be successful in each mission.
