FamilyLife Celebrates 50 Years of Strengthening Marriages and Families

For fifty years, FamilyLife has been helping couples strengthen their marriages, build healthier relationships, and grow closer to God.

As the ministry celebrates this milestone, one longtime staff member is reflecting on how FamilyLife has personally impacted his marriage.

He joined the organization in 2002, and shortly afterward, he and his wife, Lola, attended a Weekend to Remember marriage getaway.

Like many married couples, their everyday lives were filled with responsibilities.

There was laundry to finish, homework to help with, schedules to manage, and always something else demanding their attention.

But that weekend gave them something they didn’t always have at home: uninterrupted time together.

They were able to step away from the distractions of everyday life, have meaningful conversations, and focus on strengthening their relationship.

And the encouragement didn’t end when the weekend was over.

Over the years, the couple continued finding support through FamilyLife Today, a radio program offering practical conversations about marriage and family life.

Former hosts Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine shared biblical wisdom and encouragement, often using humor to make difficult subjects easier to discuss.

Today, hosts Dave and Ann Wilson continue those conversations, sharing their own experiences as a married couple and addressing challenges that many families face.

Throughout its fifty-year history, FamilyLife has worked to encourage couples, strengthen families, and help people build relationships centered on their faith.

And much of that work has been made possible through the generosity of supporters who believe strong marriages and families matter.

As part of its anniversary celebration, FamilyLife is inviting people to share their own stories.

Maybe you’ve attended a Weekend to Remember getaway, listened to FamilyLife Today, or used another resource that helped strengthen your marriage or family.

If FamilyLife has made a difference in your life, the organization would love to hear about it.

You can share your story by emailing familylifepartners@familylife.com.

Your story doesn’t have to be long or perfectly written. Just share how the ministry has encouraged you or your family.

Because after fifty years, FamilyLife’s mission remains the same: helping marriages grow stronger, families grow closer, and people grow deeper in their relationship with God.
