In November, the Northern Foundation celebrated 21 years of philanthropy and funding for Northern New Mexico College with our annual Gala. For the second straight year, we sold out over 500 seats and raised much-needed money for our Community Fund. The night affirmed our shared vision that through higher education, communities thrive, and we once again proved that Together We Can!
At the gala, we answered the question, “Why Northern?” Whether it’s pursuing a degree in Engineering or finishing your GED, NNMC is at the heart of opportunity here at home in the Valley. Humbled by the vast New Mexico landscape, we at Northern maintain a special connection to our place, our cultural roots and our unique and diverse identities as we blaze a path for our students’ successful futures.
Recall what artist Frederico Vigil said in the video debuted at the Gala, “We try to walk on water…without sinking.”
It is in this spirit that I ask you to join us to make social change tomorrow on GIVING TUESDAY by calling us at 747-2147 or 747-2218 anytime from 7am to 7pm. Please consider making a generous gift to the Northern Foundation Community Fund which provides for the Northern Foundation Community Fund Scholarship, Innovation Grants for faculty and staff, student support, operations and external grants to promote education in the Valley.
