Santa Fe County Seeks Applicants for the Animal Control Ordinance Advisory Committee

The Santa Fe County Manager’s Office is seeking interested citizens to serve on the newly established Animal Control Ordinance Advisory Committee (ACOAC).  The purpose of the 7-member Animal Control Ordinance Advisory Committee is to provide recommendations to the Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners regarding the provisions of the Animal Control Ordinance. The composition of the Committee must include:

  • One (1) member from each County Commission District;
  • One (1) member who can offer informed input regarding regulations pertaining to the human restraint of dogs.
  • One (1) member who can offer informed input regarding regulating barking.
  • Three (3) members of the Committee shall be appointed for an initial term of one (1) year and four (4) members shall be appointed for an initial term of two (2) years.

Committee meetings will be scheduled as necessary to carry out committee work.  Committee members may volunteer for smaller WPAC working groups.
