Upcoming Trash Amnesty Weekend at the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station

Set for April 22-23

The Santa Fe Solid Waste Management Agency is allowing free trash disposal for Santa Fe city and county residents at the Buckman Road Recycling and Transfer Station (BuRRT) on Saturday, April 22, and Sunday, April 23, as part of the Agency’s Amnesty program.

The event is in conjunction with Keep Santa Fe Beautiful Great American Cleanup on April 22.

BuRRT is located at 2600 Buckman Road. The operating hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.

Free trash disposal includes:

  • Garbage, rubbish, unwanted materials
  • Bulky items such as large appliances, furniture, mattresses, box springs
  • Remodeling or building materials, carpet, tiles, concrete, bricks, metals

No commercial waste will be accepted for free. No self-dumping trailers will be allowed. Fees will be charged for household hazardous waste, green waste, electronic wastes, tires, and other recycling items.

Fees will be charged for trash brought to the Caja del Rio Landfill.

The Agency operates BuRRT and the landfill, which provide a safe and environmentally responsible way for residents and businesses to dispose of their waste and recyclables.
