App of The Week: Cultural Atlas of New Mexico

The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs has an app called “The Cultural Atlas of New Mexico”. One user described the app as follows, “Having spent the past 18 months traveling New Mexico, I was stunned to learn of all the things I’ve missed. Now I’ve got a tool to help me plan my long weekends of exploring the Land of Enchantment and make informed decisions.”

The app is free and available from iTunes and Google Play

Description

In wide open spaces, and nestled in nooks and crannies, lie engaging treasures; evidence of New Mexico’s vast history and cultural diversity is plentiful, accessible, and seemingly everywhere. Whether it is the oldest house in the United States, a rare dinosaur fossil, the highway of the Conquistadors, the grave of Billy the Kid, the famous Lincoln County Courthouse, or the remains of an ancient Pre-Puebloan kiva, there is something to pique the interests of nearly every one along New Mexico’s highways and byways.

The Cultural Atlas of New Mexico is a guide to the historic and cultural points of interest throughout the state — bringing all these places together and helping visitors find and identify all the places that make New Mexico the Land of Enchantment.
