Spanish Market Artists’ Reception

Santa Fe Hispanic Chamber of Commerce News

We’re delighted to hold our most popular and well-attended event of the year on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Just prior to Santa Fe’s world-renowned Spanish Market, SFHCC will host 25 traditional Spanish Colonial Artists at the Elks Lodge at 1615 Old Pecos Trail for our Annual Spanish Market Artists’ Reception.

While approximately 250 artists participate in the Spanish Market each year, only 25 will be honored at the Artists’ Reception. One piece of art from each artist will be featured at the event, some of which will be available for sale. In past years, reception attendees have taken this opportunity to purchase unique art before it becomes available to the Spanish Market crowds!

Attendees at the Spanish Market Artists’ Reception and honored artists will enjoy a wide array of hors d’oeuvres and fine wines or drinks from the cash bar. Entertainment will be provided by flamenco guitarist Isaiah Martinez and Mariachi Encanto.

Tickets for the Spanish Market Artists’ Reception may be purchased on SFHCC’s website at www.sfhccnm.org or by calling Doris Vigil McBride at 505-471-5308. Tickets are $25, which includes a glass of wine, refreshments, and entertainment.

The stunning art for this year’s poster is titled El Sagrado Corazon by Martha Varoz Ewing. She is a multiple award-winning Traditional Spanish Colonial Artist in straw appliqué and tin art and her work is in many public and private collections. Commemorative posters signed by Varoz Ewing will be available at the event. Photo by LeRoy N. Sanchez.

Local and visiting art lovers will not want to miss this chance to recognize and mingle with an impressive array of talented Spanish Colonial creatives – it’s a uniquely Santa Fe experience!
