But first – a quick recap of what passed at this week’s City Council meeting:
On a unanimous vote, the Verde Fund is live and work on projects to create jobs and reduce CO2 emissions will start soon! Read more here: City Funds Local Orgs to Create Jobs, Cut CO2 Emissions!
Also passing unanimously – $368,000 for the Foster Grandparent, Senior Volunteers, and Senior Companion Programs! We’re always blown away by the work our Senior Services Division does – read more and get involved here!
Also up for a vote and passing was funding for affordable housing, the Ski Santa Fe shuttle this winter (Maestas), and a resolution supporting and committing to the Paris Agreement (Gonzales & Ives).
A Packed, Community-Focused 4th of July
First up on Tuesday – Pancakes on the Plaza, always a Santa Fe classic. Come see your city leaders flipping pancakes for a good cause at this event, now in it’s 42nd year! Starting at 7:00am and running to 12:00noon with arts & craft shows going on all day, the proceeds benefit local non-profit community organizations. El Mercado Del Sur
Then head to the Southside for the launch of a brand new project that’s all about supporting local New Mexico farmers and making fresh, healthy food available to all Santa Feans, no matter what neighborhood you live in. El Mercado Del Sur opens for the first time at Plaza Contenta, 6009 Jaguar Drive, at 3:00pm!

Last but not least, come together with your fellow Santa Feans to celebrate the Declaration of Independence in true style with a fireworks show at Santa Fe Place Mall!
The show kicks off just after 6:00pm with live music, food trucks, a beer garden and more. We’ll see you there!
