Cochiti walleye

Catches of the week

  • Bluewater Lake: Nick Massey of Los Lunas caught and released a 30-inch tiger muskie Nov. 20. He was using a fire tiger Rapala husky jerk.
  • Chama River: Van Rocco of Albuquerque caught a 20-inch, 2.5-pound brown trout Nov. 15. He was fishing the river below El Vado and using a night crawler.
  • Cochiti Lake: Andres Barela of Albuquerque caught a 24-inch, 5.2-pound walleye Nov. 19. It was his first walleye ever and he was using a yellow glitter deep diving crank bait tipped with half a night crawler.
The following report came in late but deserves a mention:
  • Ute Lake: Barry Gilchrist of Albuquerque caught a 22-inch, 6-pound channel catfish Oct. 28. He was using chicken livers.
