NMDOT Hosts Public Meeting for NM Bike Plan in Santa Fe

NMDOT is hosting a public meeting on the development of the Prioritized Statewide Bicycle Network Plan (NM Bike Plan)

When: November 9th, 2017
Time: 6:00pm
Where: Genoveva Chavez Community Center, 3221 Rodeo Rd, Santa Fe, NM 87507

The public meeting is part of the NM Bike plan development process, being undertaken by NMDOT together with BHI, Inc. and Alta Planning and Design, consultants for the plan development. The plan considers how best to provide New Mexico residents and visitors with a safe and connected bicycle network on state maintained and owned roads and highways.

NMDOT is seeking input through public meetings and through the project website where New Mexicans can identify currently used or potential bike routes on an interactive map and complete a questionnaire on user preferences. Input from bicycle users of state roads and highways for commuting, recreation, or touring is valuable in identifying the bike facility needs that fit their uses and locations around the state.

What to expect at this meeting:

  • Overview of the statewide bicycle network prioritization process
  • Summary of the NM Bike Plan methods and anticipated outputs
  • Opportunity to provide input and discuss the development of the Prioritized Statewide Bicycle Network Plan and bicycle facility design guidelines
  • Opportunity to identify state maintained and owned roadways you enjoy to biking, would like to bike were conditions improved, and those that present too many barriers to be used comfortably.

If you cannot attend, want to provide input on the interactive map, take the survey, or would like additional information please visit the project website (www.nmbikeplan.bhinc.com)
